Child Support
Child Support is the right of the child, and we are here to help you get results for your children. We can help you determine how much Child Support is payable using the Child Support Guidelines. We can also assist you if a claim for retroactive Child Support is brought against you in Court, or help you to bring a claim for retroactive Child Support for unpaid Support. An important part of Child Support which many clients do not know about are “Section 7 Expenses” or support paid in addition to “Table Support” for “special” or “extraordinary” expenses such as daycare, extracurricular activities, and post-secondary education. It’s important that you find out what your rights and obligations are, whether you are the Child Support payer or recipient.
Separation Agreements
The Separation Agreement is a binding contract that is there to help you set out how you should deal with marital breakdown. Most couples can do this through negotiation conducted by one of our solicitors or through a third party mediator who rate can be set according to your income level, if you qualify for subsidized mediation. At the end of the separation, you are granted an uncontested divorce.
Spousal Support
Spousal support amounts can be even more difficult to resolve than child support. There are Suggested Spousal Support Guidelines, which are based on a slightly complicated formula and calculated as ranges rather than a set amount. Contact a lawyer at Neal Law to help you navigate the complicated legal waters in determining the appropriate level payable by or owing to you.
